Yes folks, the every Thursday gathering at Gruber's is still going on. Not sure how many years but at least a dozen. Lots of food and some of the guys drive their interesting cars instead of the family grocery getter. Here's some from last week.

Thanks for responding Dr. C. Brad, the owner of the Chevy has the reputation of staying late so he can take home all the leftovers. Lives all week on them.

That's cool that ya'll keep the tradition up. We have a group that shoots pool together every Thursday night. Unfortunately the group is dwindling.

Out of all the hot rod activities around the area, and there are many, going to Gruber's on a Thursday night is my favorite. There's about 50 guys that attend, with 20-30 showing up each week. Everyone is a real car guy. Doesn't matter if you're wealthy or not. Nobody drinks, no politics, no arguments. A lot of car talk and recalling the "good old days". Everyone brings something to eat. Ted is the designated chef, usually making chicken, brats, hot dogs, chops, and more. The average age is in the 60's but young guys are very welcome and treated well. The party goes on even if Gruber can't be there.

A New Week Some Different Cars

There was some different cars at Gruber's tonight. A stock '49 Ford, a restored Edsel with a 6 three speed, a nice Comet convert and my Rover.
