A while ago in the what did you get done thread I said I started building a new welding table. I finished it enough to use it and I'm going to try explain it and post pictures. I picked up the base of the table at the scrap yard along with a pile of channel iron. The base was some sort of dolly with casters on it. I added two and a half feet two it's length two make it thirteen feet long. The cross members are made out of two pieces of channel that are fifty five inches long with 5/8 threaded rods welded in between them. There is enough rod extended out of the bottom of them so they can be clamped along the length of the table. There are 8 of these and they can be moved along the table. I made the uprights out of 3" channel that cut I 5/8" slots in so I could attach 2" angle irons to that are 3" long for setting the height of things at. The upright have 5/8" threaded rod welded to them at the bottom that bolts between the cross members, these can be adjust in and out along the cross member. I also made jack screws for leveling the table and to keep it stationary while working with it. I'm hoping to use this table for building the frame for the 37 truck that I'm starting to collect parts for plus other welding jobs.
