This here is a spillover ffrom this thread: http://ratrodsrule.com/forum/showthr...=newpost&t=247 .
Since this is an in depth coverage of wiring Mama's truck, I figured it shoud have it's own space. For wiring the truck I'm using an EZ Wiring 18 circuit harness kit. Before even touching the wiring, me being fanatical about instruction books, spent a few hours going over them & making notes as to where all my accessories fell in on this harness. Since I have some additional accessories that needed wiring of their own, I figured those would be wired before I even touched the truck harness. Last nite & this evening were dedicated to wiring the radiator fan, speedometer & putting in new oil/temp sending units.

Now to prep the harness for installation,,,,,
One nice thing about this harness is that EZ has divided the wiring into 4 basic groups : front, dash, tail & steering column.

Using my trailer as a work bench, I first make sure all the wiring I need is there. Then I seperate out the wires I'm not using as of now. I then further seperated each group into smaller groups.
What I ended up with was: Dash - gages, headlight switch & misc accessories Front - lighting & eng accessories Tail Steering column - the items that are connected to the column have the ends on them from the factory I also made a seperate section in each group for wires that will be used later or maybe not at all.
