Has anyone done anything with the old Military Cadillac motors ??? And if so what will bolt up for a transmission other than the five thousand pound automatic transmission ..The top bolts on the bell housing measure 7.5" any ideas...

Hey y'all how have ya been.
These two Cadillac motors are military, there is a letter in front of the motor serial # which tells you what it went in tank, PT boat, tractor, troop carrier I'm still checking into that. But to put the motor in something and NOT use that transmission would be great because one motor has already been built and that trans weights at least a 500 pounds
The owner of the motors, owns a military surplus store and wants a military troop carrier type rat rod so I figured, OK ?
