Hey.
Got a 71 fleetwood and need to put a power steering belt on it.
I've unloosened all the bolts I can find but no slide adjustment yet. Doesn't want to move at all.
Any info...tips...vids...diagrams??
Tnx guys.

Yea the bracket between the pump and the block has a slot that looks like a adjustment slot.
The second pic kinda shows it.

I think that bolt is behind the pulley. I have had those hard to get to on later caddys. On one Eldorado, I ended up using a die grinder and cutting a hole in the pulley so I could get a socket on.

Dr C and WB are right on target, bottom bolt, number 11 on diagram is the pivot point, should be a stud with a nut coming out of the back of the pump that fits in a slot on the bracket, that is the adjustment point. Those other bolts you loosened just hold the pump to the bracket.

Be careful when tightening the belt up. That upper bracket is cast and can snap along the slider if you get twist on it. Had to replace the one on my 66 and the used one I bought has stress fracture started in the same place. 71 might be beefier.

Thanks a lot fellas. I got it.
Now....old bet that goes around my smog air pump to water pump and then the crank is frayed so i cut it off.
Any diagram on the bolt to.pivot the air pump?
