I spend a few more hours on the splash pan today. I've got it to the point that I can't get it any better so I'm done. I'll give it a skim coat of filler and call it good. The chief inspector came over and gave me her thumbs up.:cool:

Got it hung in place so I can build the front mount for it and the bumper next.

My Akita "Sarge" came by to check on me first thing.

Again, really nice work.

I watched a wonderful, but sad movie about an Akita. Richard Gere is in it but I believe it never made the theaters.

Looking great, Pops.
My inspector ( one of my dogs. Not the wife😳) likes to come into the shop and check on my progress as well.
I still miss my dog Maggie though. She would crawl under the car with me and lay there keeping an eye on me.👀

looks great!

Thanks. I think I'm finally getting to the end of the beatin and bangin phase thankfully!! It's not my favorite.

We do get attached to the dogs of our lives around here.

Not much excitement around here today.
I finally got around to closing up the ends of the frame on the front in between irrigation sets.
I watered pasture all night so it's nap time around here.

We had a death in my brides family so we're off to Texas for a while. Won't get back to this project for a couple of weeks probably..:(

Thanks for the thoughts. It’s a sad part of life for sure.
None of us are going to get out of this deal alive so enjoy it while you can.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. It was a tough week for my bride.

We left for home and the temp was ridiculous so we decided we needed a break from the heat. Turned north and went to South Fork Colo.

Temps were in the 40's at night and 72 for the high day time. PERFECT!!!!!

It rained every afternoon and was really nice.
And the trout fishing was fantastic.

Back to the Willys

We got the engine and transmission set into place today in a "close" position.
I need to move it back another 2'' to 3'' to give us enough room for the radiator and fan clearance. If all goes well tomorrow we will get the mounts built and in place.

When we got home we had gotten 3'' of rain and it was hot and humid. Need to get some bare metal primed as you can see the rust forming in the pics.
