Has anyone put their lower front shock mount on the hairpins? Asking for a friend. [S

Not without some sturdy reinforcement, including some type of web to tie the tubes together around the mounting point. They're just not strong enough otherwise...

I did exactly that on my 33 Pontiac and it has worked flawlessly.

Exactly what, Old Iron? Tied the hairpin with a plate?

Sorry I should have explained a little better.
In the pic you can see that I cut an indian head out of 3/16 plate to tie the hairpin bars together. Drilled a hole towards the bottom of the head where I bolted the bottom of the shock. Welded the indian head to each bar for strength and built a frame mount to bolt the top of the shock to.
It has worked like this very well.
