Tried my hand at little metal shaping to dress the running boards up and boast it's a Dodge:D

Started with a 1/4" plate cut to shape with sharp crisp edges to buck the 20 gauge steel into, I also ground some reliefs in the plywood underneath the buck.

After rough hammering them to shape I used the plannishing hammer and a dolly and body hammer to smooth out most of the hammer marks. I wanted to keep them a little rough for character, (it is a RR) .

I then trimmed them down to the final size.

Here they are on the running boards, not sure on placement yet, but they will be fastened with copper rivets.

Good thinking and very nice work[cl

jup...kewl

Those look damn good sir!!!

I like at the front. Maybe with some ribs trailing to the back end. [cl
Or the other way around. [S

Fine metal shaping Dozer. Copper rivets will look cool.

Thanks Guys, Skip I was thinking the same but I don't think my Cheap Princess Auto/ Harbour Freight bead roller will do anything to the 16 gauge.

Yes, Great Idea, Dozer.
I wanted to try something like that with my Dodge Brothers truck, also, to show that it was different. These pieces in the picture are just lasered heavy gauge tin. The last shot is my first sight of this truck tucked into a shed.

I seem to be on a roll here getting things done, finally.

My front shocks made it here so I can get the mounts figured for them.

And I attacked the firewall, got the old one cut out and a new one bent and welded in.
