yup thanks guys...

its a 63 model .. 259 v8 although im a little suspicious - someone has put 289 Studebaker decals on the rocker covers..

is loud enough that i cant sneak home late at night - mrs crate will have her fry pan out...

Still a called a in Lark NZ and apparently one of 96 cars imported- so a bit rare here too .. and Dutch you drive it from the other side of the car

stills needs a little work ,, heater doesnt work, rear panel needs some work the doors seen in the pic need some re-aligning.. and the engine needs a tune as it misses iding along around 30-35 mph -- could have something to do with the 500cfm 4bbl on it though.. way too many cfm's suspect its been jetted down.. cos still cheap to run..

Cool score on the car!

The guy I bought my carburetor from had it on a 454 and tried to jet it down for economy. It was so lean that it was lean surging at about 40 km/h. You can't jet a carb down for economy, so I'm wondering if it is carburetor related if it's surging or you've just got another issue.

Thanks 05.. a stude dude down south suggested the condenser as it gotten progressively worse over 150 + miles. From smooth running ... I'd thought maybe coil feels more spark related.. I've planned to take it to a real mechanic who loves old cars and get him to give it a whizz up and check the carb runs good with the motor .. .. prob will chuck a 390 on it in time .

Yours is in a lot better shape than the ones that are sitting in fields in my neck of the woods. They will sit there till they go back to the earth or the crushers pick them up, no one up here id interested in four door cars.

man thats kinda sad .. if you come across some spares im looking for little stuff.. bottom rear door hinge (your drivers side) 'Lark' letters 1 side and an E for the Studebaker on the trunk lid.. maybe some not so faded tail light lenses

sorry bit cheeky i know

A guy near my parents place has one that's in grass over the roof. It's sad to see that even if it was a parts car.

man rescue that car !!

have to admit im more fond of 2 door cars myself ,, but old cars is old cars.. shame they get left to rot or recycled into a 'foreign' car. shame more arent saved and driven .. too many computer powered cars take the "machine" out of them these days ,, just no fun this new ****

Back in the days when drag racing was fun this Lark was a formidable runner in its class.
