That's kinda where I'm leaning Bama. Use the long strand Kitty Hair bondo for crack resistance and order a Wheelskin to fit. I've used them before, just give 'em the measurements and they'll produce one to fit, easy to lace it up, same as I did on the plain SS Grant Banjo wheel in the Hennway.

Looks like you have that figured out ZZ, look forward to seeing the wheel progress.

Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

Cool, You could split a piece of heater hose to cover it, then fiberglass it. Then leather wrap it. Love that leather wrap!

The completed wheel, made a foam form and filled it with shortstrand bondo, shoved the wheel into it and topped it with some more. It popped out easily, lots of filing and sanding, fill the pits with some regular filler and a few coats of matching flat brown Rustoleum, bad boom, bada bing.

Y'know, I happy with it as is - it's a little fatter than a usual wheel and the leather wrap would make it a little too large. Just giving it the extra inch of dish and diameter has made a big difference in parking lot manoevering with the armstrong steering.

Amazing as always ZZ. It must have taken a lot of patience to get it that consistently round.
