Thanks friends.😎
The pogo stick was aways a “must have” tool when i worked in the body shops. OI. Kind of like those old TV commercials touting a kitchen gadget that had 100 and 1 uses. True in the case of this tool.
Good thing there is no engine in the car, Smallfoot. Getting into the engine compartment made it easier. Still grunt worthy though.
Thanks soltz. I need to cut the welds on the sill and drop it down. It is rubbing on the bottom corner of the door right now.
Put on and take off. Story of my life.....

Default Part 1

As I mentioned in my previous response. The sill needed to come down to clear the bottom of the door.
I put a level on the front door sill. almost centered. I put the level on the rear sill. Not even close.
I have to throw my leather apron over my legs as the grinding sparks will put holes in the liner that keeps my leg on.
Lowered and tacked. I put the door sill covers on that are in my stash. Checking for clearance. Door closes perfect now.
Tacked back in and on to the next issue.

Default Part 2

Despite outward looks, the gaps on this car are really very nice still.
With that in mind I went after the gap above the fender skirt. Terrible.
A little messaging and it fits as it should now.
Some things just aren't acceptable even on a build like this one.
As I have mentioned before. This car was extremely complete when I bought it.
All the trim that was taken off was kept. The only thing missing was the ciggy lighter and I took care of that already.
Perhaps I am getting anal about it......Naw.
Keep on keeping on....

Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

After Pt I headed out to the shop.
Messed a bit more with the hood. Slid the hood forward on some wood blocks.
Got the rear edge to finally lay down.
Gaps are decent on the sides but it needs to get closer to the cowl.
I am ready to reattach the hinges and see what happens.
After the hood I got down on the floor to work on reinforcing the sill.
Not many pics but much like the other side.
That's all till tomorrow.
I am exhausted.
Keep on keeping on.....

Sort of a bonus day today. My Drs appt. was cancelled at the last moment.
Out to the shop.......
Called my local(Sort of) big box store and nobody carries the elevator bolts.
Since I refuse to pay $2.00 plus for a crappy bolt I made my own.
35 cent carriage bolt and 3 minutes with the grinder. Nuff said.
Got the sill brace and step welded together and then installed. Welded in and bolted. Ugly but good and strong. Once again. All of this gets hidden. Mostly just tacked in for now as it got hot again today.
I also filled in yet another hole. This one was up on the C pillar above the dog leg. Strange place to rust out.
I didn't blast the PS rocker skin and now I am wishing I hadn't done the outside of the DS one.
A few pass with my sander and look. Instant patina. I may have to revisit the other side.
Put the rocker on to see how things are fitting. Pretty good but some more fitting will be required.
I put the bulge on to. Just like the other side, this one will need fitting.
That's it for now.
Tomorrow will be a Dodge day. I am weary of the rusted metal. Time to take a break.
Keep on keeping on.....
