This gem is a 94 Ford E350. 8 bolt twin I beam suspension up front, Dana 61 open diff 3.55 out back hooked up to an EFI big block 460 and E4OD auto trans. I blew up my F150 back around Xmas and scooped up this beauty from a local car lot for $600. Had it roadworthy in a couple of days and drove it for a while, I fell in love with big displacement so naturally it’s time to chop it to bits and make it scary and loud 👍🏻

Update

I have been picking the van apart over the last few days, factory wiring harness is very minimal I’m gona attempt to keep it intact and reuse as much of it as I can and just unplug the unnecessary bits. Also check out the 2x6 custom bumper mount 👏🏻 Anyways I got this RAD red 48 Chevy 3100 pickup donor body. I was absolutely intent on finding a 30’s sedan for this build but I couldn’t pass this truck up lots of great parts, more pictures to come. The van wheelbase is 138” the truck is around 120” the way it sits. I want to do bags all the way around 4 link and notch out back. Or do I leave the van suspension alone, chop the frame just after the shackles and do a long bed?? Better drink beers and stare at it.....the neighbors love me

Honestly a 30's Sedan or that AD are better suited to other frames. Using what you have is great, but that can frame is going to cause all kinds of headaches for you with engine placement, the twin I-Beam suspension, wheelbase, and probably track width. Do lots of measuring and figuring before you start attempting that.

Update ✌🏻

Much progress has been made, been a wild year to say the least. Used a long board to lever the cab on a pair of large wooden spoils lifted the rear with an engine hoist. Dragged the old chassis out and pulled the econoline chassis and lowered er right on there.

Pics

Took half a day and had a hail storm, But great success.

More progress

No idea why the pictures are sideways, anyways got the radiator braced up, fenders and hood on had to do some chopping on the firewall For the trans and valve covers, and some minor clearance cuts on the hood/fenders to clear the rad.

How it sits

Here it is, made the cab floor pan out of a set of side covers off a big diesel welder, the body mounts are made from sections of a crossmember from the old frame. Decided not to alter the econoline wheelbase, got a pair of 5’ stacks from a local semi junkyard to help fill in the gap between the cab and bed. Will have to extend the bulkhead of the bed towards the front, but no big deal there’s not much left but the sides and fenders. Also sitting a bit weird here, the drivers rear tire is flat 🍻

I like it when the maker carries on even when some are shaking their heads. It looks good for what you had to do! Get it going and drive the wheels off it...[cl
