Got the body all mounted and bolted to the frame...ended up using good old Canadian hockey pucks for isolators with washers top and bottom with a little shimming to make the doors fit nice..The pucks were an inch thick so they seem to be what I needed for spacing...When the air is out the tail sits about a 1/2" off the ground...should work out fine....The wheelbase is 124" and ride right is around 5" when air'd up...got a few more things to do before I can put in the floor....Then I can chop the top

Exhaust ports

I am running a full exhaust system on this as well so I put in some exhaust ports in the body to run the tail pipes through....I will probably do the machine gun theme again on this one as I did on the 32 pickup but I think I may change things up a bit and wrap the ports with bullits:cool:

Looks good, those exhaust ports are gunna look killer. Did you free hand the holes? Looks like the holes came out nice and round.

That is going to be an awesome A!! The workmanship is top notch. [dr I have a question...I looked through the thread and can't find the answer. What size are those rear tires? :)

I cut the pipes to match the contour of the body and then made an outline around the pipe on the inside and free handed it with a plazma cutter...worked out pretty good. I did a lot of measuring though first because you don't get a second chance without disturbing the patina...also welded the pipes from the inside so I wouldn't have to grind from the outside. Thanks for your comments and interest

The rear tires are 285 70R 15's mounted on 8" American racing kidney bean's with a 4" backspacing...The fronts are 165R 15's mounted on rocket gasser wheels...The Tires are BFG Silvertown radials made for Coker...Thanks for the Comments.

I'm likin' your build ... vision and framing beyond the box ... a freakin' hole lot of work ... pun intended. Going to be sweet.

Making Floor Panels

Started making floor panels today...using 14 gauge steel....Plenty thick enough...made paper templates and cut them out with a zip cut...I made some panels around the top edge of the package tray but I haven't welded them in yet until I mount the gas tank which should be here soon I hope...To be legal around here if you are driving a closed in car or truck which this going to be, you have to have a complete floor that is sealed from the exterior so that requires a lot of extra work filling it all in....you are not allowed to run open driveshaft or chicken wire covered driveline..not that I think its safe anyway...but If I am going to do all this work it might as well be safe to drive...but it's still time consuming

Did some more work on the floor today...made a template for the tunnel top and had to modify it a few times in order to get it to fit in with the seats.and the shifter.not a lot of space in these old cars and room is at a premium. I should be able to put a compartment at the back of the console for storing the things you need the most, pliers, wire, fuses, screwdriver, tape etc. I still have to make the sides of the tunnel and may incorporate the dash to fit into the top of the tunnel...need more cardboard[S

Looks good, i like the seats too. :DIt'll definitely be a cozy ride with a passenger in there, i can see why you say "rooms at a premium."

Got most of the floor pans in as well as the lower firewall...built the tunnel and put in cup holders as well as a storage box with an opening lid...what a pain is the a$$....thought I would make a cardboard cut out of the dash and this is what I came up with...I will mark it for gauges and see how it will lay out...should look cool
