Hi guys,
here I go !
this is about my Rat Rod proyect, (one more time, excuse my bad english, I´ve learn english, the same way I learn to make cars, at my own !!)
I bougt this Ford 1941 from a JunkYard 20 years a go,
my brother tell my about it, and I make all the necessary to take it home,
its 200 km far away but anyway, I go for it.
All this past years, I save it to go one more time to the yunkyard, changing my home 3 times, and take it with me every time.
In my head I imagine some diferent configurations,
to make pick up, ot a truck who can carrier a car up in the big floor,
but when I discover the Rat Rod Worlds...
its like...
OK !! now its the moment !!!
and this cabin finally can rebird.
I hope you enjoy the pics and the history, that is in his first steps.
Here I upload some pics of the moment (20 years a go) I bought the cabin.
Next days I´m gonna upload more pics of the process with, some explanations.
thank you.

I let all in the floor, to start from there building, and latter put some system (?) to raise the vehicle to safety driving level...
the wheels are not intended to put on, only to take a view and let my imagination fly...

the tubes at the back of the cab, comes from other pick up truck, I stored this from months and now, I know shere it can take place :)
In the back I must put a lot of things, the fuel tank, the tow system to carry cars (I´m in the process of design, like in the 99% of this proyect hahh) and I been keeping this parts from years and now all this stuff hace a new life :)

Day four in my proyect "RatGrua"

in the day four, I cut the subframe of the IFS, (independent front suspension) of the Iveco Van donor, to make it narrower. I don´t know yet how I can put all this system in order...but I want to do [S [;)
ratrodgruaford41evolutin.jpg

me and in my hand the hook waiting for his place in my Rat tow truck.
This hook I,ve lose in my property 8 years a go, and one month a go , I found it under the ground, when I make some movements with my tractor Fordson, I think this is a sign !!!
it want (the hook) to be part of this proyect and emerge from the earth to make it possible :)
this hook its very special form me, becouse looks like make by hand, not industrial good finished.
the hook that I need :)
seems taht my hands (or the proyect) have magnets or something and the necessary parts come alone, like in a Walt Disney animation cartoons. ... (o.k. maybe in a mix of Tim Burton´s/Disney movie mix :)

and here, with the dents and all...

Day five in my proyect "RatGrua"

thank you guys for your support and warm welcome to me,
I think finally I discover a place where the people understand me and I understand...
And thank you for your inspiration, your freedom of thought and action are real lighthouse to me.
sorry GJunktionMike , but..URO is a military truck maker here in Spain, believe or not :))
anyway, your truck (or something) is an unidentifable ratroding object we swear !!
And now...

about the engine, I´m not sure I go to let that one in this proyect,
its a good engine but, I´m thinking to put something a little biger,
maybe one 6 cylinders in line with turbo (of course, and diesel too) from a bigger truck, I must open my eyes and make some calls...
or maybe must open my ears and make some views?? mmm

Day six in my proyect "RatGrua"

thanks zzrodder,
a lot of incredible buildings [dr and nice people here in RRR
I like that mine have some watchers that enjoy with my works too :)
...and in the day six:
things go a little slower, I decide to make some big estructure with wheels
to move all this heavy stuff the next months to come.
I use for that some scratch parts I have here, but need a lot of welding, [;)
I cut and weld, and re-cut and weld again to make it more higher and wider,
at the end I start to think this is a big work, and now I´m in the middel of the way, thinking to go in front or take the estructure and let out in the yard [S
but if I finish it, the next months my work will be more safety and relaxed, without big effort moving this heavy axels or leveling the cab to the fixement works must do etc, etc...
ok, I will finish, but the roof of the garage its a problem, not to high...mmm [S
must work making the roof more high?? oh no !! this is a never ending history,
I will finish the esctructure as best I can, and go in front the proyect ...
if not, it can start to walk in circles with no advances...
my dog looks scared too about this...

Day 7 in my proyect "RatGrua"

still modifing the estructure, to lift more easy the engine, axels, cabin...[;)

pic0069x.jpg

pic0070s.jpg

pic0074t.jpg

next time i build a garage, remindme please to make the roof up to 5 meters high ...
I think this estructure gonna eat day 8 and day 9 in my proyect ...

Day 8 in my proyect "RatGrua"

still working in the bridge crane....[;)[;)[;)
I've done more higher and stronger, ...I won´t it breaks, with me under :(
puentegruareforzado.jpg

and about the "RatGrua", I discover this piece from a chimney in my scrap mountain,
and I think can be good to put in the air intake,
it moves, twist, I don´t know yet how fast, but looks atractive to me the idea.
I paint it blue, before was gray.
I never see nothing like this, and can be a good partner with the turbo, both twisting.
Latter we can sell things like this, tell in that is good, becouse increase the molecular alignment of the air flux :)

Looking great! The bridge crane looks like a great way to handle those heavy truck parts.

Hot Rodding is also about making the tools needed to build the rods themselves.
