minimum battery cable size to starter ?

I'm in the wiring phase of my rat rod and I can't find out any information off hand on the minimum main battery cable wire size to the starter I can use. It would be a 6 foot run from battery to starter. I'm running a small chevy v6 with electric cooling fan and minimal accessories.

    An idea I have

Hey Mac, if you choose to use a Chevy 60 degree v6, this is how one could look all cleaned up with the bolt on goodies! This one is on my EZGO golf car rat.

Mini T bucket from golf cart

If you use the search function and type in EZGO rat roadster project there are some old mock up pictures of the build. It has come along way in 4 years of tinkering with it and I am wiring it up now. I will have to post pics of what it looks like all painted up and assembled.

aftermarkets gauges compatability with oem sending units

The catalogues I was looking through showed all senders must be purchased separately and often doubling the cost of the gauge. I was just trying to save a few bucks as work has been slow and money is getting tight to finish this build. The low cost gauges at O'reilly's come with a sender but I...

    proper paint for gas tank

I'm building my gas tank from a clean used 7-1/2 gallon portable air tank. It will be exposed in the bed of my RPU. Whay type of paint will be gas resistant from sloshes and spillovers? I prefer something from a rattle can if possible. Thanks.

    Mr. Roadster wiring harnesses

It's time to choose a wiring harness kit for my RPU and I know there are several good pre-made harness kits out there to choose from. Mr. Roadster harnesses seem to have good reviews. Like most people I am looking for the best bang for my buck. Speedway Motors has been a good source for my hot...

proper thread sealer for tapered brake fittings ?

I bought them from the Speedway Motors catalogue and I looked at other vendors to see if they had them with the 3/16" flare end, but they were 1/8" female pipe thread also. I went ahead and bought them with adapters for 3/16" flare. I guess I will try the Locktite sealer and not use teflon...

Rat Rods not welcome at Paso Robles cruise night!

Its funny that their big excuse from not allowing the West Coast Kustoms to throw the big cruise and show is some of the people drank too much and stumbled around in public. But on the other hand they promote Wine Festivals where EVERYBODY drinks and lots of people stumble around! Quite the...
