    57 reo cab on a s10 frame

That looks pretty cool, I love the 318's, was one of my favorite motors and with a torqflite its rocking chair smooth. (Some say it shifts to smooth, when they're right you can't even feel them shift). Anyway, good luck with it! :p Rev. D

    My '41 Ford PU build!

Man that video is cool. I've been reading this from the beginning and I just had to jump to the end and see how it turned out.. Heh.. I love the nailheads. I had a friend down the street. His uncle had a old Invicta buick with a 401 (I think it was a Invicta, it was a convertible but got in an...

    Need opinions on engine choice

Lots good big blocks, personally the SBC is great, cheap and can be made fast, but its like the plug and play way of doing things anymore. The 460 is big, heavy and makes big torque and would be cool in the F1. 455 olds, buick or pontiacs are cool too, although older now and pricier to rebuild...

    Anyone watch Pickers?

I usually watch it. Yeah they occasionally get over on people, but on the better picks they want to return so they usually pay a fair price for things. Many times those people haven't had those barns open in years and as was mentioned stuff is rotting away. Many of those old dudes too price...

    ford 300 6cyl

If you use the Mazda tranny do some research. It has some rubber/nylon/plastic whatever it is plugs that like to fall out and it loses tranny fluid (and yeah I believe it uses ATF as well) and well fail. I believe I've seen them put in steel plugs and keep it topped up and they hold up ok...

    Dream motor?

Well a Hemi would be a safe choice, but I'd like to have one of the 215 Turbo Jetfire olds motors with the turbo, just because... :D Here's Wiki's blog on the motor: "Turbo Jetfire In 1962 and 1963 Oldsmobile built a turbocharged version of the 215. The small-diameter Garrett T5 turbocharger...

What have you done that's STUPID?

I've done my fair share of dumb stuff, burns, cuts scrapes etc. But the story (true) I have is one that I shall remember to the day I die. Buddies car is down so I drop by to pick him up, we work the same job, same place etc. On the way being young, we tune up for the day passing a little doob...

    Name that engine!!

Missed one, 16 out of 17, I missed the Y-block. The rest was pretty easy, but I've seen all of those motors physically before. Donno why I missed the Y-block, I even worked on a few of them putting in upper end oilers.. Well that was over 30 years ago though... Regards, Rev. D.

chop? or not chop? that is the question.

I agree with you, and no I'm not a HAMBER but on something thats not a old rusted out car thats already on its way to being a rat rod, I'd be inclined to leave it, theres plenty of good rat rod material out there without chopping up nice rides. They did that on a perfectly good T on a det bros...

    Arizona folks. Have questions

If your in southern cal. then cost of living is probably cheaper. The state is in the hole here too and unemployment is hovering at right about 10%. Housing would probably be cheaper, real estate is in the tank. My wife lost her job at what was once a very lucrative high end real estate company...
