    1936 Diamond T Project

LOVE the truck! That's my favorite era for the Diamond T. I think that ends ....38? I want to build a flatbed car hauler out of one of those. Hard to find. Nice job, wouldn't change a thing!

    Rotisserie Carts - 250.00 per

Rotisserie Carts - 450.00 per- near Toledo, Ohio I work for a company that builds glass bending furnaces. They were recently cleaning out an old storage area and they brought these mold transfer carts out to scrap. I grabbed them (paid for them) to keep them from getting scrapped. With a...

JB's 1927 Dodge Brothers Build... REBUILT THREAD!!!

LOVE this thread. I have the same car(just the deluxe with the solid steel wheels and cowl lights). Want to do something very similar, but have an old DeSoto Hemi to drop in it. What are you doing for a title and body tag? Mine was missing off the firewall like yours, not sure where to go...

Pros and cons of 440 dodge engine

Although compression ratios are typically lower on RV engines, the water jackets are normally larger. Best being the mid-seventies 440 with the butterfly jackets. Can't hardly overheat them. I agree with the 383 thread, because of the shorter stroke they do rev quicker and get very similar...

    Harbor Freight Metal Shear

HF I have found their stuff to be useful if I ever have a question about whether I will use a certain tool often enough to make it worthwhile to buy an expensive one. I buy their cheap one, if I use it a lot and like it, I buy the better quality one then. If not, then I'm not out much.

Mini van 3rd roll seat for them 41-46 chevy cabs and others

The seat Don't prop the whole seat up 3 inches. Raise just the front about 2. Also have you made it adjustable? It's really easy. Just get an adjuster off a bucket seat and adapt it to yours. Set your adjustment up for the middle adjustment so it can go back and forward. Set the place...

How do I build the rest of the cab?

The back........ The top ....... OK, first the back ...... You should be able to locate some cab "B" pillars off an AD Pickup (47-54 Chevy or GMC) They are a dime a dozen. Nice curves, could even find the whole pillars new through LMC or someone like that. You could probably use the lower...

    Door stop straps... anyone?!

the doors Bob, Saw the same article, thought the same thing. There's lots easier ways to do that. Holding the door open - Just take a piece of tube and weld ends onto it that will hook over the striker pin on one end and act like a striker pin and hook into the door latch on the other. As...

    Sheer or nibbler?

Shear, Nibbler or Plasma Cutter Definitely a foot stomp shear for the straight stuff, but for anything with curves or arcs, plasma cutter. Those clippings from the nibbler get embedded into your boots, then tear up your carpet and trash your wood floors. Nibbler - effective, but costly.

    floor pan

Couple thoughts You may want to take a second look at the zinc. Zinc is what they spray on a weld before welding, to keep it from rusting. So, I'm not so sure you are going to get your desired effect. If you want a rusty look, may I suggest a steel powder or shavings and then left outside...

    floor pan

top chop There are two schools of thought (choices) to take into consideration when deciding how far to chop. 1. Chop it til it looks really cool, then make everything else fit. 2. Build the car (or truck) from the bottom up. Take care of your chassis and cooling, build the floor, seats...

    floor pan

The Floor Let's answer the aluminum part first. No. Myriad of reasons, not even worth going into. Thickness of the STEEL ........ I don't go less than 16 gauge steel that has been planished and bead rolled for structural rigidity. Planishing stretches the metal just a little bit by...
