Has anyone "Z'd" a muscle car frame

Drop spindles for up front, go axle-over-spring in the rear, and if you want it lower in the back put blocks between the spring pads and springs to lower it further. Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont the old A-body and later G-body cars share almost the same suspension as an S-10? If that is...

    Steering column puzzle

I'm having a hard time doing the math on how to set up my steering column inside the cab. I'll be using the stock steering setup from an S-10, running a length of 3/4 DD shaft from the cab to the box and attaching a steering wheel at the other end. The problem is coming up with a way to secure...

    Is anything USA made anymore

There's lots of stuff still made in the USA, but it costs a lot. Guitars, amps and related things have plenty of goods still made in the USA for example. General consumer stuff though is usually outsourced to keep cost down because we don't want to/can't afford to pay for anything. I'd someday...

    head question??

That much compression, seems like the only down side is the cost of hi octane fuel, or the use of octane booster. Should make for a helluva strong small block either way.

    350 sbc

They do make a side mount breather, dunno if that would interest you or not. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Racing-Engine-Breather,8948.html Kinda stupid money for a breather but it may solve your problem.

Best way to melt engine sludge?

About the only way you're gonna get an engine entirely clean is to strip it down and have it hot tanked in caustic soda, and baked and blasted for some extra clean. Otherwise, unless it runs like crap, I wouldn't fool with it, other than scrubbing the outside with brake cleaner to get the crud...

    Fuel tank.

Why not use a retired beer keg? Tractor Supply sells cylindrical air tanks with a cap for about $100 that may interest you. A friend of mine uses the air tank deal in his 48 chevy truck and it looks really nice. It's more "low profile" than the beer keg because it's longer than it is wide. If I...

You didn't do anything, you posted a pic on a site that was shut down for copyright infringement. Call the magazine "R3 quarterly/monthly/whateverly" or "Rx3 yadda yadda yadda" or "3R magazine" just random thoughts.

    Engine break in

lol I also agree about fram. I use mobil 1 or napa (which are re-labeled wix filters) or actual wix depending on where I happened to make the purchase. I was going to change the oil and filter anyway, I was just curious of other's ways of doing things. Thanks fellas!

    Engine break in

When you guys break in a rebuilt motor with a brand new cam & lifters, do you change your oil & filter after running it? I suspect with all the assembly lube in there it wouldnt be a bad idea to use it for a few miles, but what's everyone's opinion about it?

Thought provoking way of MAKING homemade fuel

Yeah I heard about that dude. He did the water engine thing some years back. There are already companies doing this though on an industrial scale in other countries. And about that beans and cabbage thing, if you're willing to bottle it, I'm willing to use it :) just keep the chunx out...

Thought provoking way of MAKING homemade fuel

Huh, didnt know about the warning of that site. But either way, I looked at other places than just that site, and what it boils down to is cooking down plastic into its base forms (which is hydrocarbons) and condensing that into diesel, then cooking that into gas. The water car uses...

Thought provoking way of MAKING homemade fuel

Snooping around on the internet today, I found a few experimental type folks going on about making their own fuel. Thinking that folks like us being the tinkerers we are, and with the cost of fuel being a burden, I thought everyone would get a kick out of this. I'm tempted to give it a try...

    Big Wheels?

I like vehicles of all kinds, not just classics and muscle cars. Some rice burners are really nice lookin rides, like the later model nissan 240sx and the late 90's nissan skyline These two particular cars were pretty special when it came to jap cars though. The 240 was rear drive and caused...
