yes As far as I can tell it's the factory setup. The more and more I think about it the more I am becoming certain the booster is not working. Pretty much I don't have power brakes with the assist.

Ok guys I am going to need your help with an issue I have been having. I have a 1953 Bel Air with power brakes. When I got the car the Power booster vacuum line was not connected. I made the connection wtih a check valve and it seemed to help a little. My main issue is that it VERY hard to stop...

Just a few updates Just a couple updates. Got the rear lowering blocks on, brought her down 1.5". Planning to go another inch in the rear. The front was already down when I got her. Put the fender skirts back on.

i-6 Tripper, Has the stock i-6 in it. Right now I am kind of going through the peripherals and making sure everything is in good running condition. During the winter I will pull the motor and either put in a SBC 350 or rebuild the i-6. Wanna help? :D:D:D

Does anyone know where I can pick up a brake booster for my 1953 bel air? I think the diaphragm is toast. I have found the actual master cylinder online, but can't seem the find the booster part. Is my best bet just to try and find one off a parts car?

What is the best way to lower a 1953 Bel Air? I have been looking online, and saw very little relating to lowering of this car. Maybe I am looking the wrong place? Do they have drop springs for the front? I have seen lowering blocks for the back. Does anyone suggest a lowering height? Is 3" too...
