ok thanks. after spending a minute crawling around it, it is part of trans mount crossmember, and will more than likely be removed and modified to accommodate the engine and trans. have been told this may be necessary. thanks again for the input

I have a question about 40 Chevy body mounts. There are 5 body mounts down each side. All use rubber pads for bushings except the passenger side door hinge pillar, it takes a round bushing. Can anyone tell me why this is? And can it be modified to use the rubber pad as well? Frame mount...
