    First time welder advise

A cracker box welder is a portable transformer welder for stick welding. They last for years and have nothing to wear out to speak of. Mine now has cracks in the leads it is so old and time to renew those. You can find them at garage/estate sales where the first owner has passed on. The one I...

    Will these coil overs work.?

There is a company called "Lindblad" that offer some inexpensive coil overs that really work well. I have used them in the past and for a no frills car they are perfect and the spring rate that the guess are really close.

    2 carbs, idle problems

This may be not what you want to do but something to try. block off one of the carbs with a flat plate under the base and manifold and see what the thing acts like. If it won't idle correctly with one it sure won't work with 2. I had a nail head street rod about 30 years ago that whould really...

    Header opinion

I'd vote for #1- reasons being that they will be quieter and blow dirt on all the shiney cars. Seriously I had a set of header that pointed down and they really stirred up the road grime and pitched it into the air. I'd add some noise suppression if they were mine. Where did you get the tapered...

Pulled Out Of Long Term Storage- OOOOOOPPPS.

I am always amazed at the opposites here-- We want out engines rust free and the exterior rust is a badge of honor.

    55 Chevy Full Build

This is awesome! I really like the way you went the extra mile and just didn't make ANOTHER tri-five. I just realized that's why my 55 is still sitting where I put it 3 years ago. You have shown that there is a place for real engineering in a full body car build and not just a bolt-on a catalog...

    Hemi Pics From Our Garage

That Hilborn/Enderele injector ought to really make you replace alternator belts because it's going to be responsive to the max. I'm envious!

    3 phase welder

Let us know how this works out. I would check out your local miller dealers repair guy or call miller direct and get their take on this also. If it were mine I would use your welder on a trade in for a single phase unit. The dynasty series of TIG welders goes both ways and for a MIG it's hard to...

    New welder qustion too...

I totally agree, look into a 110v miller for bang for the buck. Also remember buy the time you chip the flux off you'll likely have more warps than with a gas welder. Save your money and don't just buy price. Wire is cheaper at tractor supply and also gas. If you buy a cheap welder you'll save...

The mother of all tool chests!

Is it better to by a hi-dollar tool box and fill it with Harbor Freight tools or a China tool box and fill it with SnapOn or Matco tools?

    Demon carbs!?

I think it depends on who works on them. I have 2-850s on a blower motor changed to boost referenced power valves and they work good, but were reworked by guy here that knows his stuff, not me. I usually install edelbrocks on the blower motors I sell and they seem easier to work on and make work...

    Exhaust baffles.

Check with Rewarder headers in Calif for baffels that work inside Zoomies, Not cheap but they work well to quiet boat headers with blowers. Most lake boats are required to be quieter now and we had to do that for our blown gas lake toy even in Kansas.
