Still finishing up a few things here and there. Got the 4 wheel drive working today. Had to make a selector lever.. Took it for a little spin
Now, part of me wants to go even more mad max on it, part of me wants to start over with a full tube chassis with integrated cage, 1 ton axles, and go...
Update.. It took FOREVER, but last weekend I got a letter in the mail with the new VIN #
I went ahead and got my bond, and my insurance.
Monday the DMV inspector came out and applied the VIN #s to the car, and yesterday I picked up the inspectors report, went to the DMV and got my license...
So this week my buddy that pinstriped my car added a little hand painted shrunken head accent..
My wife suggested he draw up a see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
This is what he came up with... I wish I had half this tallent
Ok, so today's the day. Spent yesterday thrashing on this 4x4 37 Sedan (with a 103deg heat index) to get her ready for today's date with the NC DMV License and Theft Bureau Inspector.
If all goes well, she will be well on her way to getting titled and on the road. Wish me luck!!
Got some striping done yesterday at a car show by Gory Greg.
Guy is friggen awesome... all freehand, no reference, no stencil, just paint, a brush, and his mind.
First time the 37 has moved under it's own power.. Long way to go, but big milestone
(This after starting it Friday, thought had bad head gasket, removed, replaced, still had a problem.
Turns out it was a cracked head, replaced head today, and all better!)
Video Here
So Last week I was able to get a new radiator. Spent a little more, but got one that fit in front so that I don't have to run the hoses to the rear
got the hoses on, transmission lines, fans, etc..
I was able to mount both front seats, get the E brake handle mounted and working, and install...
Thanks guys.. To me it looks like it's ready to go somewhere!
They size them funny.
88.0/11.0-15
They are 28" tall, recommended rim width is 12-14", Section width is 15.5"
They are the same height as the 28/12.5/15 ET Streets I took off, but are a lot wider!
The ET Streets were shot.. Dry rotted,
and had a cut where they touched on the top end of the track on another car they were on..
So, I picked up some cheap dirt track tires.
Man they are wide...
Thanks guys.
Soltz.
Without turning this into a bike thread, My bobbers tend to be black as well..
Here are just a few of the bikes I built. (only the black ones)
Last one I built, lot of work into this one.
This one I built the frame myself, only reused the original engine mount and...
Changed up the rear wheels and tires.
Had to get rd of those 4x4 wheels.
Was trying on some wheels I got from a friend, and actually like the ET Streets that were on them.
Now I am torn.. Put the whitewalls on these wheels, and get some whitewall fronts
or sell them, and get a new set of these...
So, I got a little sidetracked with some work on the 1930, and
knocking out a quick motorcycle build.
BUT, now that those are done, I am back on this car.
This weekend I knocked out the brake lines, and now have brakes.
Got the E-Brake cables, and handle done. Got a license plate light done...
Damn, I missed that!!
From the side, at a quick glance, to me anyway, they are very similar.
I have to look close at the doors to tell a 32 from a 30/31. 28/29's are easy to tell.
Lowbudget50.
Still can't believe what you started with on your build. Love it
I also love that picture above...
I was there, HUGE show.. we walked for just over 4hrs and only hot 1/2 way around!!! I picked up a pair of vintage dual carbs for my 30 there, got them bolted on the following weekend.
I will be back next year for sure!!
I tried a few different searches, and nothing came up,
so I am looking to start a Model A picture thread.
Coupe, Sedan, whatever.
Post up your own, your favorite, or some inspiration
This one is not mine, but one of my all time favorites
