    Endless BS thread

I liked the 1st one better, but I laughed at both of them. Thanks, I needed a couple of laughs today.

    Junk parts everywhere...

I'm hearing this more and more. There is only one motor rebuild shop here in town, before covid, there were 3 good shops. That shop has a growing list of restrictions on the parts they will build a motor with, and one of those restrictions is "NO FLAT TAPPET CAMS/ LIFTERS!"

    other hobbies?

Never met an old Jeep that didn't have patched floors, and most of the "old Jeeps" around here are not anywhere near that old. Years ago I had one with an old snow plow pump and lift arm on it. That 6" hydraulic lift sure was handy for moving stuff around.

    Aluminum Plate

I don't believe the 1/8" aluminum nor the (4) wood 2 x 4s will be enough support for even one Harley. 1/8" aluminum plate will flex if my 260lbs body walks across it if it was supported by 2 x 4s. 1'8" aluminum is what they make aluminum oil pans and radiator tanks with, clamp a 12" wide piece...

    Every Kid's Dream

So will the 3/8" steel plates the cardboard represent bolt to the frame with existing holes or brackets on the current frame? Are you keeping at least the main leaf to keep the axle positioned, or how are you going to keep the axle properly positioned? Maybe I'm just not getting the full...

    Every Kid's Dream

How thick the frame needs to be over the air bags will depend on the weight involved, both as driven, and as it might ever be loaded. With an estimated weight range, such numbers can be calculated. Without any idea of the weight involved, everything is just a guess. The shear size of the parts...

    rebuild that Delco points dizzy

Back in the points and condenser days, my boss at the gas station I worked at loved those unipoint setups. I think we installed them in every GM car that came in. I don't recall many issues with them or my boss sure would not have been installing them like we did.

    Isky Assaulted

And I will join you in that celebration when civilization returns to that point. Between then and now, I believe we need to celebrate every good thing that happens. Ed being alive after this event is worth celebrating. According to the account I read, Ed has moved on. We should as well.

Yes, I agree with Bamamav, you need to at least set the front axle at ride height before you make that final decision. If its going to have a hood on it, the hood and grille shell have to be included in the mock up before you get the full picture. I do like the direction your going with it.

    just some fun pix

If you can gas weld, you can tig. The torch that provided the heat for tig is electric powered instead of gas powered. Its easy! Except I can't master it... I could gas weld just fine, but the tig I had the chance to use had the foot pedal. I'm was not corradiated enough to operate the torch...

    Isky Assaulted

The times they are a changing. I think we should be celebrating that at least Isky's phone theft didn't cost him his life. Many places in this country that could easily had been the case.

    TBT... Throwback Thursday!

This is the oldest picture I can do with a car in it. That would be me sitting on the table on my 1st birthday. My one year (and 4 days) older older sister is standing next to the table. Sept 1957. The picture was probably taken at my aunt's (or maybe my great grand parent's) farm. Don't...

    Some people shouldn't

I ran my own one man welding shop for 25 years. 75% of the work I did was repair poor welds. Some of the stuff some factories are putting out makes what a lot of part time welders produce look great. I bought an engine hoist/cherry picker from a store one time I had to redo 3/4 of the welds on...

    Lazer cleaner/ lazer welder

My experience is that any time you have a tool that is suppose to be capable of doing more then one thing, it usually doesn't do any of those things very well. If you want a lazer cleaner to remove the rust and paint, and your thinking about getting one that will also do welding/cutting, buy...

Had a friend loose a nice street rod because of one of those wire wheels failing. Heard of a few more guys that had problems with them as well. Haven't had much faith in them since then.

Model A Pickup just another build !

A few years ago we installed 4 different brand new headlight switches over a days time, before we one that fully worked! We ended up getting them from 3 different parts stores. All were in boxes with different printing on them (but had the same part number), I suspect all were from the same...

I thought those things were suppose to be "water tight"? Fish them out and pedal the stuff inside. It might now be "highly improved, crash, water, and salt tested." Might even better then what was in the containers that didn't fall off the boat.
