....Hello all I am starting my build thread a little late so I will bring everyone up to date on all that I have going on with my project.
....The body was found in a ravine here in southern Oregon and was barely worth putting together but it had the style. It was originally a touring car but the seperator wall and front doors were missing and rear ones were too small to do anything with. Both sides of the rear section were folded over and sitting under the cowl so it was pretty rough too.
....The doors that are on it now are VW bug doors cut down to what I think looks almost decent, and boy will they end up soaking up some time before they are worthy.
....The front end is 42-48 ford with square backed spindles that I was lucky enough to find on CL for a c-note about 20 miles from my house, complete with an un-split wishbone. It came with wide-5 drums but my buddy harv117 happened to have a pair of the desireable ones at his house.
....The rearend is a Chrysler suregrip that I pulled from an A100 van at good ol Jims Better Buys in Talent OR. He let me slaughter The whole van for $200 so I pulled both axles, steering column, fuse box and ignition switch.
....The frame was built on the shop floor with a level, square, tape and a 4.5 inch cut off wheel. It is made from one 20 ft stick of 3/16 2x4 tubing for the rails and what ever I could find for the cross members.I made it 2ft on the inside of the rails from front to rear and it sure makes centering things simple.
....The engine is a 400 that a friend of mine had built so atleast I dont have to deal with that too.
....The lower trailing arms for the rear 4-link are from a corvair but the seemed to fit the bill so in they went.
....The radiator was another CL score,$75 bones and I was the proud new owner of a 1980's of a tri flow sprint car radiator that fits my model-t grill shell.
....I am currently waiting on my delivery from Speedway and then I will Have The steering arm for the spindle, proper drag link, wishbone bungs, and of course the lakes weld up headers.
....Well gents here are some crrent pics to inspect...Just trying to keep this build as simple as possable.

Tigged on some mounts and Installed the radiator today, also stepped up to a Holley Street Dominator intake. I give mad props to all of the aluminum TIG welders out there,it is definitely an art.

The speedway weld up header kid came ups today I was so excited I had to weld one up and install it just to see it. Those things are definitely a chore but that is a nice kit. I would post a pic but my damn phone says window limit reached

Update

I found a guy on CL that wanted to trade the lakes headers for these chrome street rod headers so I went for it.

Back yard bomber seats

I had to max out every inch of room to fit myself into this little Rod so I just ended up making the seats. The hardest part was bending the square tubing with my homemade tubing bender. They may be a bit heavy but the price is right.
