About a year ago I stepped up and bought a vintage (1955-56) Sako L46 in 222 caliber. Pretty expensive gun by my standards. Now everything else I own looks like crap. I love that 222 and have shot maybe 200 rounds through it, mostly shooting prairie dogs.
In my quest to get at least one new rifle a year, I am always looking. Love the vintage stuff, don't own any semi-autos except a 9mm I won.
I traded for an old sporterized 03 Springfield made by Smith-Corona and I am thinking about having a custom built on that action. Probably a 25-06 or a 6.5-06. Unless something that really trips my trigger comes along (Like a vintage Browning lever gun in 257 Roberts)

For me guns are like cars, I like the classics, customs and hotrods and can't get enough.
