Finally got around to starting a build thread, with the help of my sweet wife. I'm building a rat rod pickup/bobber, using a '55 Studebaker pickup cab. All of my engine and running gear will be Chevrolet. I have a Ford Model A grill shell and I'm using the Studebaker straight axle, which has been modified to accept the Chevrolet hubs. My donor vehicle was an '85 El Camino, using as much of it's components as possible- engine, transmission, rear axle, and brake system. I'm also using a Saturn rack & pinion steering. I know you guys like pictures, and I'll have more to come in the near future.

I used the El Camino steering column on the inside. From the firewall to the rack & pinion I used DD steering shaft. I have 2 heim joints to support the shaft to the frame. I used 3 u-joints to get the angle like they needed to be. There is a slip joint between the u-joint on the rack and the next joint to allow for the articulation.
 
Trying to get brakes all done. I had to go to 4 different parts stores and ended up not getting all I needed. These company owned stores are really lacking when it comes to having knowledgeable help. Most of them don't know much and don't care. When you want something they can't look up on the computer they're totally lost.
 
Where the lines mount to the caliper there is a notch in the casting so the line has to point to the front. This causes the line to kink when the wheels are turned. I think I could grind a notch on the side an make it work but thought I would see if anybody else had had this problem. A banjo fitting with a 90 would probably work but I don't know if one exist.
