Well that sucks cuz everything on it is free, I don't know of any others in this part of the country.

Doesn’t that always seem to be the way. 😳
There are certain items I need that have to be specific for the body shell.
The inner and outer windshield trim pieces being the most important followed by the rear quarter window garnish moldings.
I could use just about any dash. Seats
, etc.
Since it snowed here this morning I’m in my “ oh heck no “ mood today anyways.

Bummed out...

Made it to the local yard today. Tried to get back to the 49 Dodge and the only way to it was blocked by a 10 foot wall of debris.
The friend that went with me tried to walk back to it ,but no go as there is a big Creek that runs through the property and it's on the other side of the creek.
The yard owner said that he had been "Cleaning up" that road and may have it back open in a few.....Day's.....weeks....month's....years.. [S  [ddd
So it goes.
I snapped a few pics while I was standing around waiting for my intrepid friend to come back.

Torchie, If you can wait a while I'll bet I can find the windshield trim and garnish moldings at French Lake.

Thanks bob. I know they had a 49 Coronet listed on E-bay for parts a while back. I have a couple of leads working right now so If they fall through I will put an "Alert" on my thread.[ddd
On ward and.....sideways.
Pic.1. Torchie dressed up to....
A. Go grocery shopping.
B. Grind the paint and bondo off of the 71 year old Dodge fender.
C. All of the above.[ddd :D
Dug into the DS front fender today. When I sectioned these i just ground off enough paint along the cut line to tack them together.
This one has been worked on multiple times it would appear.
Bondo over the entire fender as well as some dubious repair work.
Pics tell the tale of Woe. Especially the last 2.
Now more then ever.......
Keep on keeping on.

Moving forward...
I'm "Frenching" the head lights on the Dodge and doing it the traditional way.
To replace the bulb you will have to remove the buckets form inside the fender.
Most other car makers use clips that take a screw to hold in the buckets. So to make them removable from the rear you just reverse the cilps and screw them in from the back.
Not Dodges. These buckets were held on with short screws going thru the lip of the bucket and into the sheet metal.
First thing is to weld in some bolts.
Then I use a Barrel nut instead of a typical nut. to make it easier to feel what you are doing when you bolt in the bucket.
Enlarge the mounting holes a bit and trim away some metal from the top of the opening.
Insert the buckets from the inside of the fender and bolt them up.
I installed and removed these twice just to make sure.[cl :D
Some spacers to get an even gap and that's it for now.
Thanks for looking in...

Bonded the head light rings to the fender, then went over all the weld lines with short stand fiberglass re enforced filler. Per my usual practice.
I'm really happy with the flow.
