I bought a bunch of stuff on an online estate sale. A whole trailer of stuff but that's another thread. One item I bought was a HO slot car track. It was opened and used but mostly complete. Never heard of the brand but compatible with all AFX, HO, Aurora, Tyco tracks and cars.
Brings back a lot of memories teaching inn the basement of the pool hall arcade back in the 60s. I have it set up one the pool table.

Wow they are multiplying!
I put up a backstop around the track because they kept flying off. I put up pictures of my old race cars and pictures of tracks and races we've been too.

cool! My son is a slotcar nut... He uses Fleischmann , not sure if that was ever for sale in the usa tho.
I summertime he claims the (big) attic of our farmhouse to lay his tracks.

We have been cleaning out the basement in my childhood home. I came across a box that said slot cars. There was some track and some buildings. When I was young I had a setup in the basement with the pits and people walking around the grandstand. It did bring back memories. I still need to search more to find the cars and controllers. There was even a jump in the box I was looking through. Jim

All that does bring back memories. STILL not the best use of a beautiful pool table. But then I am very bias. Put it on the kitchen table like we did when I was a kid.

Found this one at Hobby Lobby yesterday!
"Christine"!

Skip, Skip, Skip, you got your panties in a knot over abusing a nice pool table, but thought nothing of ruining the kitchen table. There are other significant uses for a kitchen table that I appreciate, at least three times a day.
Dmw, you are bringing back kidhood memories. I had a big box full of Meccano stuff, to build things with.

We really weren't using the pool table and the track was supposed to be temporary but it's evolved.
Here's another car I found not a 70 AMX like mine. 71 AMX

At least he put cardboard down over the felt. :p [ddd
My brother and I had slot cars as well. No track though.
We used to go down to the neighborhood hobby shop (3 D's) where they had a huge road course as well as a in Scale Drag strip set up. We would rent the controllers by the hour. I think it was something like $1.50 per hour. [cl
Slot cars as well as Model Railroads seem to be making a bit of a come back.

That's a big track, I remember getting one for Christmas that was slotless called TCR (total control racing) you could change lanes and pass other cars. With in three days we had wore holes in the skid pads on the bottom of the cars from nonstop playing.

It is 64' total using all the pieces. 1989 Marchon, I've never heard of it before. But for $50 what the heck! I have 18 turns and about 8 straight pieces left.

Here is a old school slot 1/8 scale dragster tether.

I like my toys too, this was built in early 60s raced back then in Cedar Rapids Iowa at Trax oil stop get together after the real drag races.. I’m second owner.. Engine is 1948 Atwood .63 super champion, 1.5:1 beveled brass gears. Direct drive.. This completely hand built. Still talk to the buddy that built this and still builds them till this day..
