Got a little more done. Worked on squaring the drivers door in the opening. I had to lengthen the rocker panel and ratchet strap from top rear to bottom front and rack it a little. I measured and marked the A pillars. The other thing I did was take a piece of 3/4 conduit and bowed it to the contour of the inside of the roof just ahead of where it's going to be cut and Clecoed it to the roof. This will help to keep it in shape when I cut it. I thought I was ready to cut it tonight but it will have to wait. The straighter it is before the chop the less work it will be to put it together. Prep is as important or more so than the rest of the job. I will chop it when it's ready.

She's topless

It looks like a roadster pickup. I finished up straightening up the door opening and made tabs the got welded to the body and door. They keep gaps and belt line aligned. They bolt together so I can open the door while cutting the top off and welding it back on. I screwed up when I welded them on the first time, They overlapped the door. Had to cut them off and reweld so the door would open. There is also a pic of the conduit that is attached to the underside of the roof to help hold the shape. tomorrow I'll cut the three and a half inches out out the body and try to put the roof back on.

She's on her way back together Lots of time fitting and lining things up. Every thing is going well. The only screwup was that I cut A pillars at two different places but I don't think it will be noticeable. I may have to put relief cuts in the roof just above the doors. The conduit brace helped a lot. Also haveing a center line to guide in lining up the front and rear was a good idea. Thanks Torchie. I paint a line up against masking tape. Back to the fun.[;)[;)

Today was a long day. Found out that the right rear corner was too high. I cut across the back of the cab from the middle of the rear window all the way through the B pillar in order to lower it about 3/16 of an inch. That got the drip rail to line up. Made filler pieces for the roof. It took a lot of time to make sure it all lined up. It took two long relief cuts in the front section in order to get it to lay smooth and match the rear. After unbolting the passenger door tabs it shifted to the rear a little and dropped a little bit I think I can adjust it by bending the top hinge in a little as there is a little more gap at that hinge than at the bottom. Still a lot to do. Connecting the dots between the welds and grinding and hammering to keeping the welds from shrinking. I don't think there will be a lot of progress this week. Have court on Wednesday. Prep for endoscopies Thursday and Hospital Friday.

Well done kenny.👍😎😎😎😎
Good luck at all your appointments this week.
I was scheduled for the same procedure but postponed it due to our covid resurgence . Not a good time to be in a hospital in Michigan.
Torchie
