Also check for foot room. the box takes alot. If you are going to drive it alot you want to be comfortable.

Late 50's thru 1972 f100 used a 5 on 5.5 16 inch wheel. Most of the ones i saw were on 4x4 trucks in the west va. coal mine country. They were 5 inch wide and used a 7.50 x 16 tire. good luck

Will work just fine. Do put a small amount of fluid in rack hose for lube.
