Does the Pontiac 301 have flat tapped or roller lifters? Also, does a Pontiac 400 have flat tapped or roller lifters?
(Sorry if these questions are getting old, I've never worked on Pontiac V8 engines before, mostly just Ford straight-6s)
A friend of mine used an aftermarket cam in his 301, if I am correct the
301-455 pontiac cams are interchangeable. That being the case, which Pontiac engine would have a cam with slightly more lift? or are do they have the exact same specs?
That being said, will a Pontiac 400 camshaft fit...
I have a stock Pontiac 301 & I would like to put a cam in that has a bit more lift for that nice lopey idle but I can't afford an aftermarket cam (& I don't see the point of putting a new cam in without rebuilding the entire engine). So my question is: What STOCK small block would have a cam...
Does your belt still squeal even after you tightened the hell out of it? Try putting some brake fluid on it (preferably with a rag/shop towel as to not make a mess), make sure there is an even layer around the whole belt & I bet you it'll stop squealing. Tried it & it worked for me.
This is my rat rod bike I build when I was 15, also have a couple of 1920's CCM rat bikes but no pictures of them. I'd like to see some other pedal bike projects on here, anyone else have some pictures??
