My 40 Dodge Truck Build - Maybe a 41 LOL

Welcome Gale....Please start your own thread. I went with a Saturn Vue electric steering collumn from the junk yard on my build. Still building so can't tell you how it works but can answer some questions for you if you have any.

Thanks Gene... there's not much room and I prefer not to drill the frame for a splined bar. I spoke to Jason at P&J today and he concurs... He recommended a set of heavier duty gas shocks for the front. Thanks Smalls. Ok then... on to the next hurdle. That's a relief!

Hey Fellas, I’m thinking I might need some sway bars but with all the weldments on my axle tubes for the four link in the pan, hard bar, shock mounts. I don’t have a lot of room. I’d have to to use those U-bolt style bar holders and would have to mount the bar within the first few inches of...

That was easy.... sliced 2 - 4" long pieces of 3/16 - 2 x 4 rectangular tubing and cut the 2" wide side off. Will work perfect. I have 4" of space between the top of the U and the frame rail. A 1" bump stop will leave me with 3" of travel and will protect all my lines. Gene....yes I can bolt the...

Hey Gene, Moving the lines will require cutting off the tabs I just welded on, in addition my brake hose from the caliper is not long enough without having to re plumb all the work I just did, and it does look very neat. I need to protect the hose as it come thru the bed side arch, and the hard...

Thanks Gene.... I had an idea tonight. I'll weld a piece of U channel upside down on the axle tube to cover the hard line and the hose, mount the bump stop on the frame and it will contact the top of the U channel. BTW the brake lines are that cooper nickel tubing. As remote as it might...

Thanks OI. I wish I would have thought to run them on the backside of the tubes, then I could bump stop on the tube. I think the upper 4 link bars will work as well. It's just protection should I blow out a coil over. I'm anxious to get this frame in paint!

Finished my rear brake line today....now they are all done....lines, clamps ect As you may be able to see in the pics I've gone from my rear calipers with a custom hose to a tab I welded on the axle tube, then to a hose assy from an s10 blazer for the center rear drop. The hoses and the hard...

Oh boy....yes I will protect it with some thick wall fuel line or heater hose. I was at a hydraulic shop yesterday having some brake lines made up and saw this. Its a spiral wrap like the light duty stuff you wrap wire with but very heavy duty. I wouldn't use it for my fuel lines and prefer...

Needed to get my fuel lines to the other side of the inner frame rail so I cut and welded in a piece of 1.5 x 3" x 3/16' rectangular tubing to give me a pass thru.

I put this in the wrong area so am moving it here..... A few progress pics. Took Genes advice and did the front brake line over....much better. A shot of the brake lines at the booster, the fuel lines, and the bed on. I have to pop a hole thru the inner frame where the fuel lines are laying and...
