Thanks, now I just need to decide what's next. Current inventory looks to be a 53 Pontiac chieftain, a 46 Chev fleetmaster, a 38 Chevy sedan, a couple of model a truck cabs, and I've got my eye on a hearse and another oddball one, an Anglia.

Yes the offer would have easily covered parts costs and then some, but it was within an hour of its first show, and I haven't even put 50 miles on the car yet. My partner in crime said send it down the road, but I chose not to.

The seat is actually a fiberglass bench seat my picker friend found and I bought a couple years back. My wife does upholstery, and instead of just the usual toss a Mexican blanket on it, she carved foam and made tuck and roll Mexican blanket. [/IMG]

Where did you see pics Bob? I've been trying to find some good ones, a photographer had a model with and took some while there too but I haven't found any. If I still have it, it'll probably be at some local shows, otherwise the big one, back to the fifties I preregistered this one and my 37...

Made it to the car show yesterday, its first show, had a cash offer within an hour and it won rat rod magazine special recognition award. Sure drew lots of interest and questions, good time. [/IMG]

Got a little time to tune today, running much better but not perfect yet (I'm a performance engine builder 9-5 so I might be picky). New seat is done and in, no good pictures though, but its Mexican blanket done in tuck and roll style. I'll be at the rat rod magazine show with it and my 37 Chevy...

First test drive today! Needs some fine tuning, something goofy with the flathead distrib, and Rochester carb combo on there, but I'll get it sorted out. Its not fast, but I didn't expect it to be. The fun/cool factor is what this ride was meant for, I have a pretty quick 37 and have built...

    Vinyl fabric question

If this is the type of stuff you mean, my wife can get it, she does upholstery. Picture doesn't show the blue real well, but its a pretty dark blue, almost like a denim color. I've been trying to find something that needs the red cause that stuff is cool as hell. [/IMG]

Thanks everyone. Forgot to mention, I did the 95% oiling mods on it so the flatty would have an oil filter. Bought a couple of old 283's from a Chris craft and one had a cool brass remote oil filter housing so I cleaned that up for this. It was supposed to go on the firewall but we ran out of...

Motors in, broken in, sounding pretty good. 50+psi oil pressure, staying cool on both heads, no leaks. Needs a little tuning on the carb and timing, but its close. Need to neaten up/hide some wiring, build the steering column and install a driveshaft. Getting close to driving. [/IMG]...

And motor and trans back out, gotta try to make time to get the motor assembled this week. If all goes well, I should be firing it up next weekend. Found a great place to reline my stock clutch and provide a new throwout bearing, for lots cheaper than buying Chinese ones from a certain popular...

Pretty much got the wiring done this weekend. 39 for tail lights [/IMG] Headlights in. [/IMG] Spent a long time thinking about how to do headlights, decided on some SBC connecting rods. [/IMG] With everything going on up front, I wanted to find the smallest blinkers I...

Been a while since doing any updates. Got sidetracked and still am with my main business, but we're trying to hammer this out before a big car show next month. Still haven't found time to assemble the engine, but got the correct trans, and clutch is out being relined now. [/IMG] Had to...

If you're referring to the watts link, no it pivots as the suspension travels. With the leaf springs the way they are I'm not even sure I needed it, but they look cool.
