Hi, my name is Jade & I'm new to this whole world of Rat Rods. My dad built a car (in his 70's) starting with his frame up. He put almost 40,000 miles on the mountain roads in Montana & in his 80's jokingly said he wanted to be buried in it when he died. He passed away 2 yrs ago & he left eeverything to me.
Unfortunately when he moved in with us he wasn't well enough to teach me about the car. I don't even know about the airfilter-I guess I'm supposed to oil it??
So I came here looking for a little guidance if possible, about if his car is a Rat Rod, & how to list his car to sell it-do you list the car as to what it was supposed to resemble or what it's registered at in Nevada? So I'm here hopefully to learn & soak up info.

Hello and welcome to RatrodsRule, from northern Alberta. I'm hoping that having a running hotrod will inspire you to drive it while you're building the next one.
There are oil bath air cleaners,[I have one on a 1956 Classic], that you have to add oil to once in a great while, [after you clean the dirt out of the bottom of it]. You better pop the top off the air cleaner and see if it's a paper filter or an oil bath.
There are a great bunch of guys on this forum. You'll do alright.

Thanks KennyC. Here's more pics. My dad fabricated everything he could from the frame on up. He put in a crate (?) Chevy small block 350 & all parts were new from places like Summit Racing, Lokar etc. In Montana he got a VIN & they registered it as a 1929 Mercedes Benz SSK but Nevada DMV registered it from the date Montana 1st registered it (2006) Make-Assembled Vehicle, Model-1929 Mercedes, Vehicle Body-PRD. (?)
So any suggestions as to what to call this when I try to sell it? Is it a rat Rod? So many questions. I really appreciate your time & advise. Thank you.
