This past weekend was our free racing event at Brainerd. Jerry hooked his Colorado up to my trailer and we started the 150 mile trek up north. Stopped for breakfast. Here's driver Dave posing. Had warm but nice weather. We made 7 passes, all in the 10.80's
to 10.90's. A tenth off pace but okay. Next race is toward the end of September. A bigger cam should be in place by then. Would like to see 10.50's with a little carb tuning. I threw in some pics from the car show too.

A few more. A new owner/driver of Rick Schnell's ultra fast flathead dragster. Just getting his feet wet. 9 second Falcon with a 500" Ford engine. And a straight axle Chevy in the low 12's.

A few more. A late hemi in the first one. A blown flathead in the second one. The camera played tricks on the third one.

Skies darker than octopus ink and a rumbling in the heavens like Thor and Zeus were in mortal combat. Still, before the rain started one brave soul drove his cool truck to Gruber's last night. Hard to talk in a metal building with torrential rain machine gunning the roof. BTW, this nice AD panel was willed to the owner by a close friend.

I passed one for sale last week in a town close by. It didn't have a price on it and the place was closed. It was a long box in what looked like original green paint. Strangely, about half way back on the passenger side there was a big rusted out hole in the side of the panel.
