Started with this in March of 2022 May of 2024 and we have this to look at... There was a lot of crack pipe smoke to get it to this point...all the heavy lifting is done...26 months steady Get something that is all there or close to being all there....all those little parts add up quickly...

Last year out in the midwestern part of the USA...the good folks at Rat Rod Magazine put on a huge tour...anybody on here partake in the tour? Looks like a fun time for sure...

I got the old guy to actually fire up...it took many nights with an old race car guy who helped me figure out the wiring on it...then I we put brandy new windshield in it shipped from Oregon to Mechanicvillle NY...it even came with a Steele rubber gasket...two old guys...took us less than 2...

So I gotta ask...how loud is that ole hot rod?

I just picked up an off topic project too...has not run in 2 years...so I am crossing my fingers I get it to run with very little work....but like you said...always another hurdle to clear.... Good luck and keep us in the loop MikeC

I tried to do a 4 link rear end assembly in my current heap and I just could never get it to sit square in the chassis no matter what I did...finally called the fine folks at Posie Spring company and bought a leaf spring set up...kinda hard to screw that up...and don't know...the right side...

Glad you had a near miss...the older I get the less I enjoy driving... When I was a kid it was way more fun than now...too many more cars on the road and too many morons as well... MikeC

I thought I would bring this thread back to the top... Been in the same family since 1957...I got the nod to adopt the old man...he is a 1948 CJ2A I named Dave Whitcomb after the owner who in 1957 bought a service station in the Syracuse NY area and kept it until he died... here it is back in...

Keeping track of all the junk with wheels on them...can be a daunting task...I just picked up a 1948 Willys flat fender...hoping that will keep me busy for a little while....fix things that need to be fixed...no restorations for me...new fuel lines...brake lines too...lots of metal work of...

So I was on the road for a month...so now I get back and I start nosing around the Jalopy in the garage...blew a couple more fuses on it...called for help...we actually got it to turn over last night...probably the first time in probably 30 years...I was stoked... So....ordered more parts...went...

Love the stance on those old Mini's...such cool old cars they are.... MikeC
