Thanks, a little about my truck. Ive got about $1000 total into it so far. More time than money. It started out as a 46 ford 1/2ton. The cab has a 6ish inch chop in it, no channel. The box was bobbed down to 4'9", no floor because of the insane channel in the box, and because i think its cool. I made the frame, it has a 8" Z in the front and an 18" Z in the back. 3 link rear suspension i made from left over jeep parts. Right now it has the original 46ford banjo rear, but i have a 9" w/posi lined up. The front axle is also original 46ford truck converted to wishbone setup. Drilled backing plated cuz holes are cool. Steering is going to be cowl steering made out of jeep parts.

The power plant is a BBC 454, hooked to a TH400. The engine was out of a 86 1ton. Now it has a 396 intake, open headers, Mallory distributor converted to HEI, Edlebrock carb, generator ......

I could go on forever about this truck. I'll just stop for now.

That sounds great. Another BBC man.:D
That black and white of your wifes truck is very cool.
Good lookin truck but those rear tires wont last long.:D

the rear coils are actually front coils out of a 97 wrangler. I had them laying in a corner of my shop left over from installing a lift kit. I copied the rear suspension from my cousin '61 chevy 1/2ton. Seems like a wicked strong setup.

hey, great looking projects! i too have examined that old chevy rear coil set-up--looks like a really strong/traction assisting/"do-able"set-up
maybe a few more pics......for "inspiration";):D

As soon as i clear off some of that junk i have piled on the back i'll get some pics. Heres pics of the headers i just finished, they still need baffles and turn outs.

Oh yeah, the grill and headlights are '34 Plymouth. Got a real good deal on em..........F R E E ! ! !

Now that i think of it, as of right now i have just about a grand into this truck.
-'46 ford = $350
-2 lengths 4x2 tubing = $200
-misc. parts for suspension = $90-$100
-2 rear tires 7.50-16 mounted = $70
-12v generator = $20
-1 gal. of sating black ACE brand rust paint = $35
-electrical = $30
-HEI conversion parts = $120
-19" wire wheels for front = $40
-8' of exhaust pipe = $10
-swan neck side mirrors = $30
-stop light prism = $15
Grand total for above $1,020 USD

Free/donated/left over parts laying in corner items would be:
-'34 plymouth grill and headlights
-'86 454bbc + TH400
- Edelbrock 4barrel
-'65 International scout seats
-'57 jeep steering box
-396 intake
-Mallory dual points dist. off of 327 'vette
-'41 dodge military rims
-3 shoe box tail lights
-bbc headers
-lap belts
-soon to come 9" posi rear

Now its gonna get expensive, 19"bias tires, battery, brake parts, steering linkages, possible aluminum radiator w/elec fan, whatever else i have to have......
