Got the PWR brake set up from Lucky Devil, it was made for a 39 chevy so it didn't just bolt in but I was able to make it work by cutting off the peddle mont and makeing a new one and moveing the booster and master cyl back under the seat. Need to make a rod to go between them and all should be good. Also got the steering coloum mounted and made a cover plate for where it comes out. Waiting for u-joints to make final cut on it.

Finaly got the u-joints for the steering and made the shafts so now I have steering AND brakes and by golly they all seem to work!
Next update should be the new engine in with the front frame and sys painted...I hope. Need the motor/tranny in it so it can go to a buddies shop for front and rear alignment and also plumb everything while it is on the lift.

OK, getting closer to the motor install. Sanded and preped the front end and painted it with GM satin black then sanded cleaned and painted under side above the gas tank gloss back then put the new tank in. So I think I might be ready for power!

Don't think this is a real solution but it might make you feel better lol
You are so close to a solution you can't even see it

Stack-o-dimes.jpg

Funny how an actual stack of dimes looks like a good weld if you stack them correctly

I forgot all about hose clamps! hose clamp fix.jpg

If you were to weigh a tie rod collar and use the same weight in hose clamps...whattaya think? huh? huh?

Torch, thanks for the thought?
The rod ends are all taken care of, found a set that screwed right on with the proper tapper. Look closer at this shot, Done over with simple easy.
Good photo shop job though[cl

This rig is looking killer! Soo... you obviously have the skills, tools, and space to do great work. My question is what happened with the puzzle? Did you just kinda get lost somewhere between conceptualizing it in your mind and making it happen in real life? Or was it just a motivational issue? Some times I get so frustrated when the real life project doesn't match what is in my head and I just scrap the whole thing. Either way I am glad to see you are back to producing cool stuff.

Just lost interest in compeletly, what I am doing now is where I really find my interest has always been. The Puzzle was an experement and the result of a stupid bet that I just didn't have my whole heart into,I am and always will be a full bodied custom sled kinda guy. I hope the Puzzle gets finished by the guy I sold it to, he seemed very very into it and wanted to do it the way I had planned. Time will tell what he does with it. I hope to see it at the Nats this year, he said that was his goal.

Today I got the exhaust manifolds that I have been waiting for to long:rolleyes: They cast iron headers (sorta) with 3" collectors. I really didn't want to deal with all the tube header BS and these will work out nice and have the right look. Now on to building pipes[;)

Those ram horns look great and simplify things a lot, seeing pics of your old project, have you talked to the guy that bought it and has he done anything with it? I would have really liked to get it off you but it was to far to go.
