Yes... He is an excellent body man

And Yes He Does do good work.....

Yes, I am so very blessed for a speedy recovery (2 months earlier than the Dr's projected)

I'm itching to get started on Eli again, I've been doing some house cleaning I had a cutlass I swapped a trans in going back home this week, so everything will be h out of the way for Eli.. well minus finishing the front porch and.... the other honey do list LOL....

In the works....

I'm going to get something done this weekend on Eli! <- Okay now that I said it, I feel much better ;)...

Plan are to get the passenger door cut down so it will at least close. Also gather all the pieces and parts from Oct (The accident) that have piled up. On a positive note, I did get some shelves built in my shed for storage before the big winter storm, so i at least have somewhere to put everything! :D

~Feeling [;) Optimistic~

Long Awaited! Progress (At least for me anyway lol)

I finally got to cut something on the old Chevy! [;)

Didn't get a ton accomplished, (spent most of the day, de-salting vehicles from all the winter weather) but I did make some progress.

I got the top of the passenger side door cut off, so now at least the door closes.

I do have an issue that needs to be addressed.... maybe you guys can throw some helpful information my way. Eli had a bad rot problem on the lower portion of the rocker on the passenger side... I'm think, I'm going to have to just piece this back together:

Take a piece of flat metal and make the curved part, then take a piece of flat metal and weld it together then trim the excess? [S

If you guys have any other suggestions my ears are open.

Thanks!

Oh I also got the dash out, another builder needed a glove box door for his ride and a gauge cluster, so I am sending parts his way.

Moving Along :D

Finally making some progress!!!!

I have been battling the crud, but had to get out and get something done. to answer your question OldIron, there are no bone-yards with old steel down here all the pill heads crush everything :(... it makes me:mad:!!! So many vehicles with plenty of potential much better than what I started with end up crushed into a little square so sad...

Anyways... I noticed the chop was off about 3/8" so I cut the A pillar and worked that out. Reworked the driver side door, it looks somewhat better and also patched the hole in the diver side rocker where the B pillar used to sit.

I noticed the at passenger side B pillar needs to move another 1-1/4" back, so that will be done in the near future....

Lastly while working on a crack in the cowl, I came across some lead...(it was bubbling up out of the car as I tried to weld the crack) so... how do I get rid of this, or should I leave it and bondo over it? I thought about heating the area up and letting it drip out?

Any suggestions would be great!

I'd melt it out with a torch, and then maybe clean anything else thats leftover so you can weld clean metal...

Thanks man! I'll give that a shot and see what happens! Do I need to take any precautions?[S I haven't done this before, so I figured I should ask before I do something I shouldn't.

No danger melting lead out.

I would not worry about any problems when melting lead out.We used to make all our sinkers for snapper, grouper fishing.I have melted loads of old tire weights and such things.Just stay out of most of the smoke,if possible,it does not smell to good. But I would not worry a bit.
Nice car[dr
