Closed to open drive on 37 Buick

Those do look like nice kits, but I'm trying to keep the budget down. Hoping to use the 37 original leaf springs and the height compensating air shocks from my 95 Roadmaster to keep ride height constant. I will need spring mounts for the front of leafs. I'll need shock mounts to position the...

Closed to open drive on 37 Buick

I'm updating a 37 Buick Roadmaster using a 95 Buick Roadmaster LT1 engine, 4L60E transmission. Not a lot about hotrodding early Buicks on the web. Would like to use the rear axle from the 95 Buick as well. From what I have read, I can cut off the coil spring parts off the rear axle and weld on...

WRX or Legacy type gas tank

I believe my 95 LT1 engine has a return fuel line from the fuel rail. From what I read about LS1 engines of the 2000s era, they did not have the return line. 1) Does Cadillac CTS fuel system have return line from the fuel rail? 2) If the CTS system has a return line, how would I connect my 95...

Thanks for the lead. I'll check that out.

WRX or Legacy type gas tank

I'm building a resto-mod 37 Buick with a 95 LT1 engine. I'm considering using a WRX or Legacy style gas tank instead of the typical rear mount tank. The primary purpose is safety, as this will be a daily driver and I want to take my grandkids for rides without worrying about the texting teen...

93-96 B-Body Gas Tank with F-body Fuel Sender Assy

I'm adapting the gas tank from a 95 B-Body (Roadmaster) for use in my 37 Buick Roadmaster for EFI with my LT1 engine. I have read that the fuel pumps in these tanks can overheat if you do not keep at least 1/3 full. Also possible to starve pump in fast start or stop. The Camaro pump assy has a...

Torque to install screw in ball joint

I have new Moog 719 threaded ball joints and bought sleeves from local race shop that are supposed to match. They are the "small chrysler" screw in type. Reading the Moog ball joint instructions it says that it should take at least 125 ft lbs of torque to seat the ball joint housing into the...

Donor wheel options for 1937 Buick

I'll do some searching for 50's wheels. May also explore fabricating clips like the early Buick wheels & attaching to a new wheel. Thanks

Donor wheel options for 1937 Buick

I believe all the Buick caps are retained on the inside. I know that the 37 Buick hubcaps were retained by clips on the inside and would assume other 30's & 40's also to be retained by clips. I'm not sure about the 50's hubcaps. That info would be good to know. Thanks

Donor wheel options for 1937 Buick

Thanks for info. Measured some 1/2 ton chevy truck wheels my cousin has and the ID of the hubcaps would in fact be about 10.25".

Donor wheel options for 1937 Buick

I'll do some more research on the 1/2 ton chevy pu wheels. 56 buick poverty caps are the latest model that I've seen that have the block letters that look similar to the 37 Buick. Do you know if 56 Buick wheels would be compatible with tubeless radial tires? Thanks

Donor wheel options for 1937 Buick

Thanks for your help Willowbilly3. Chevy 1/2 ton truck wheels would be a readily available option, but I believe they are designed for 10.25 ID dog dish caps. I have a list of 5 x 5 wheel cars, but was hoping someone else may have already found one compatible with the Buick hubcaps. Thanks
