My dad had a long bed like that (not slammed) when I was in high school. I drove it to school for a year. I like it!

I have just about all my front end pieces. I'm hoping to build and install my front cross member this weekend. I'm dieing to get this thing to the roller stage.

I am building the bed also. I am further along now, need new pics but here is how it started.

Here is my build. It's a (I think) '39 Ford truck, could be a '38 still waiting for the title. I am building my own frame and hope to have this on the road by spring. Here are a few pics.

The fenders are creased pretty bad in the front but I don't plan on using them. The cab is in really good shape, I plan to Z the back and I have a drop axle for the front.
