you may have to drill the m/c cap and put in a valve stem, use bicycle pump to force fluid through. worked on an old beetle, except mechanic genius friend didn't adjust shoes, so still no brakes.

4x4 and low? Cake and eat it too? The problem I'd see with a way low [I]functional[I] 4x4 Rat is the front diff and driveshaft. You'd either have to box a pretty good sized rectangle in the crossmember(s) to allow for clearance of the shaft due to suspension flex, or raise a divorced t-case...

Depends on price to me, and always have liked the way a F-250 handles. Muffler off, spring hangers moved. Rear is now bolted back in, keg awaits some other load to support haphazardly:cool:

Dana 44? Does your friend have a Scout II you could source the axles from? After '72 they have 44's front and rear, and the V8's had tall gears that would help keep your highway rpms down - Binder engines redline really low ;)

no worries on going 1 piece Prob have a C-4, not sure about a 302/C6 combo. I used a '76 F-250 drivetrain in a Dodge D-50 chassis. The Dodge had a 2 piece w carrier bearing, the F-250 (LB btw) had a single driveshaft. I had to have the ford shaft cut down and have been running it for a year...

Just had C6 tranny rebuilt about 2 weeks ago and the shop messed me up. I got no second gear now. They said they would take care of it but I can't get it back to them till after the 4th. working long shutdown hours this week. :( I've had 5 trannies built by the same shop without a single issue...
