Getting too old for this. Took 5 months to get it to this point. Going to crank it this week. Thanks to the forums for all the advise. I got this old cab and bed and frame in 1966 and its been in a barn since then. Pretty rotten to say the least. I did all the fab work, welding and machining. I only have $4K in it right now with rebuilt engine and trans. 289 2b C4 8" rear, front disc, rear drum, 1928 closed cab ford body, frame and shortened original bed. Fabricated all the white oak woodwork myself including door jams custom dash and top assembly. Looks pretty good, hope it drives well. Spring over front and rear end with load carriers for a little extra resistance in the rear.

I appreciate all the help form the different forums.

A nice journey. The work is nearly done, so go have some fun.

Hey, that rhymes. Maybe I have a future in songwriting.

I like your proportion of tires/rims used compared to soooo many who use skinny fronts and huge rear tires. What size rubber you have that sitting on? - and can you give me your help and opinion that I can get an old 'stang four lug rear end for about fifty bucks but I passed so far thinking that I "need" to have five lug??? - -- I am building to drive and cruise NOT for speed and layin rubber

28 pickup project

Tires are 195 / 75 /R14 rear and 185/60/R14 font on 4.24 BC rims which are rare to find. I used an old mustang II I bought for $200 bucks complete. I used the rear end, trans, 302 engine, carb, E brake, wheels, and front disc assemblies. Speedway tubular front end. Frame is Model A boxed and modified.

I had to give up Harleys so this is my 4 wheeled replacement. I have been driving it each evening and getting the bugs out. Its is just a thrill to drive it down the road. Its handles great and sounds great but not obscene.
