Got a start on one runningboard [;) - boy, 16 ga. steel is tough to bend, or at least it is on my brake. Actually, I didn't want the fold on the edge to be too sharp so it works out OK. The upright piece will have to follow the rocker panel shape so more welding ahead, also new frame brackets to make. It's just sitting on blocks in the pics but it's a nice preview of of how it'll look when mounted.

Brother you do amazing work!!!!! I am so impressed with what you have done with this car!!! Has the old guy you bought it from seen it yet??

Thanks !! No, I haven't had him over to see it - not too sure he would understand - I may have given him the impression that it was going to be more of a restoration.....[ddd

i love this car too.have you considered contouring the boards kinda like this?i like the straight boards but for me they fatten up the mid section and take away from those big curvy sexy fenders.regardless this ones a knock out[cl

Simply "A thing of Beauty" !!!!
WOW, What a great car you're going to have.
That old man will never believe it's the same vehicle.
Congrats and keep it coming.

Well, I thought about it but that style has never really ' done it ' for me, and since the original ones were straight, I'm cool with the new ones that way too. When I get some outside pics in a couple days it will look different from a few steps back.

Well, I got the runningboards made and installed [;) :D - still have to make the supports that tie them to the frame but couldn't resist an outdoor photo op. They are really the missing link that brings the look together, makes it look so much lower.

I couldn't agree more. Damn, it looks good!

Seeing it outside and from different angles really puts things in perspective.

I'll shut my stupid trap about the headlights, now.
