Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum

I have started my truck bed build for my 53 f100 this weekend. Got a lot done thanks to an friends at the fab shop I use to work at. We sheared all the material and made the bends.

I bent the sides and milled a notch in the tubing for the rolled edge. I capped the ends and beveled them. Drilled a bunch of holes and spot welded it with a small bead between the spots. Turned out great.

I wanted to do something different for the floor and decided against wood because I am going to use this truck. It's gunna get line x when finished.

I have a partial bed that I am using for measurements but I only have the rear crossmember.

Can anyone give me the dimensions of the front crossmember and the middle two????? I want to make them out of tubing but need a base line to start.

I'll try to attach some pictures.

Welcome. Nice work, looks good. You might want to start a thread in the "Please Introduce Yourself" section and introduce yourself and tell us about what you're working on, etc.

I cant give you the answers you are looking for but I can tell you that is nice work. Start a build thread so we can see the whole truck.

Thanks for the comments. Ill try to start a build thread...

I bought a great set of rear fenders, rust free originals. The yard I bought them from has some trucks I can look at to measure. Headed to get them tomorrow morning.

I really like that bed, and the floor......that is just fantastic, going to look like wood slats but will last forever![dr

That's the idea!! I like it more and more. I'm planning on building a roll pan and the tailgate. I have a friend cutting out the Ford lettering and bars to make the tailgate to look as OEM as possible.

Yeah I might have gone a little overboard with the 12ga but for an extra $20 I thought it was worth it. I hate dents.
