the bed is in for good.
now the cab needs to be squared away and have a floor fabricated .
this project is taking months and it is purely the money shortage that is holding us back.
if i would have started with about 7000 bucks.
this would be done already.

my old kelly full cab top off my willys jeep got transmogrified into the lid for my 27 chevrolet pick em up .
it took a lot of fancy cutting.

oh yeah.
drive shaft cut and ready for paint.
we got one of those conversion u-joints
ford to chevy i guess it is.

i only need approximately 50-75 more items
and then i can start throwing money at the DMV and 2 or 3 months after that maybe i can drive it?

update

last fall i put the 27 chevy in mothballs.
i have an extremely limited budget for this build.
i was having to wait till payday (i get paid once a month)
buy a part
install it
wait another 29 days
buy a part
install it
repeat.
it was tying up the shop by just sitting there all the time.
well i had a minor brainstorm.
i borrowed $1500 from a dear friend.
and i am renting my extra bedroom for 4 months for $1000
that will give me enough to finish this rod so i can drive it by late summer.
i need to plumb the brakes
new drums/cylinders/shoes
wireing
radiator
el cheapo seats
and glass in the front and back.

i am pretty excited about this.

Billy, you are a motivated builder and a credit to the hobby. Too many projects never get on the road. I admire your resourcefulness in coming up with the money.[cl

Make sure your camera is working.:)
