Well, here we go, pulled her into the shop, knocked the snow off it and made a buck to hold what I have ,into shape, and surprised that it fit up as good as it did. I'm missing about 6" off the body, all around, mother natures built in section. I'm leaving it on the trailer for now, will likely put casters under it in the spring.

No plans for motor, likely Chebby like my "31, easier to come by around here. Frame is undecided too, I'm a welder by trade that does mostly vehicle repair, but I'm not even close to a bodyman, so this part will be the hardest.

Tackled the left roof today, hand formed a piece of 18 gage over an old piece of pipe, welded it in, made a forged iron drip rail with too small scrolls on the end......because I can ,haha :). Knocked the high spots off with a file.

Here is my brother's '31.
hudson.jpg

It was mine until we traded and I got the '49 Chevy pickup.

I'm in. My 29 looks like it is in about as good of condition as yours...[P

Looking at the before and after from your pics it's a good job on the roof piece. The scrolls are a nice touch and one of the best reasons for doing them is because you can. ;)

Getting a bit done, good having it on the trailer to work on it. Got both roof pieces in, pass door is coming along, this is my plan for the new/old panels, still have some work to do, hoping to use 3M panel adhesive to connect the two. Got into the drivers door (or what's left of it) today, must have spent 3 hours getting that rusted hinge to move. At least now both doors open and close decent.

and a little more done.........

Project '30 Essex, got 2/3's of my frame done ,made a couple of 32' look a like horns for the front and slid it all under the body. It's going to be low, not much leg room inside, took about 8" off the lower body/doors, and a 4" channel, feels like sitting in a friggin go-cart! I leveled up my 4x8 welding table and used it as a chassis jig. Also made a new visor and replace the top windshield frame. I've had this since Jan., and was just thinking the body has never been off the trailer once! I move it in and out of the shop to work on it, level the trailer every time . Ahh, soon gonna be rolling off it on wheels!
