i like the open sides! adds a little more hot rod to the look

I personally like it a lot better with the hood sides on, but that's just my opinion :)
The plan is to be able to run
it with or with out the sides on. I like it both ways. But I like the look of the
hood without the sides when it is open.

Looks good both ways.

I really like those mirror stalks. They are the first thing I notice when I see he front view.

Thanks. The mirrors really makes me happy! I think they look good and
are great when driving down the road.

I like it Pops!!![cl

Thanks Smallfoot. It's always nice to hear good things about your hard work
and money spent.

It should cool better with no hood sides. ...but, I would hate to lose the spring loaded latches that are stock. I happen to like 'em.

This engine has never gotten above 190* so that hasn't been an issue.
I'm going to run the sides most of the time more than likely and gonna
do some thing to keep the spring loaded latches. I like them too.

I like it both ways. it will be nice to have the option.

Somehow I missed the mirrors too! Pretty sweet incorporated into the door hinges...

The mirrors are stock but usually only had the drivers side. I had to drill and tap the passenger side hinge. Another thing Dodge got right on these trucks.

I took the rear springs in today and the guy said go to lunch and come
back and I'll have them for you. Added a leaf and re-arched in an hour
and only charged $90. I'll get them installed in the AM and see what I've
got for clearance. I may have to adjust it a little. It's easier to go down
with it than up.

Also got the center section of the console made. More to come on that project.

I took the running boards off to sand blast and prime/paint. Kinda like the look with out them too.

If I didn't know better I'd think Skip was trying to insult me. HA!:eek:

I got the rear springs installed. It needs to settle in some, if not I'll put
3/4'' lowering blocks on, it's just a little high for my liking.

Also got the aluminum tread plate to finish the top on the fuel cell/storage
compartment and bed floor. Way too much shine and glare. I'll have to
cure that!

With the tailgate closed the aluminum might be a nice contrast. Looks good. I can't believe how fast you work. Do you have elves that work on it while you're sleeping?

Pops, there's a simple 3 way fix...toss a couple of motor blocks in the bed. It'll squat a little, It'll dig better with the skinny pedal and if ya don't strap em down, you can probably knock the shiny off that stuff!!!:D

Thanks. It's a case of finally being able to do what I want after 45 years of
busting my hump to raise a family and get things paid off. Living the good
life.

Look out now Pops. If it gets much nicer you will have to invest in a trailer. :D

Hey, Hey, Hey!!!!! No trailer queens around here. It's too much fun to drive.
If will be my Toad behind the motorhome once in a while tho.

That's what I like about you, Smallfoot, always thinking!! Good Idea.

Didn't you just pay to raise the rear?

Yeah I did but everytime I've had springs re-arched before they have always
settled down some afterwards. I tried to allow for that, but it's also easier to
go down with lowering blocks than it is to go up with the axle above the springs so I had them go a little farther than I really wanted it to be. If that
makes any sense. That's the best I've got.

Been running the swamp cooler in the shop and noticed rust starting to
form on the bare metal of the new bed. So figured I had better do some
thing about it.

Not the most interesting thing but primed it, the running boards and the
rear fenders. The plan is to chip away at the body work and paint this
coming winter after driving it for a while.

Together again...

Need to finish the hood and side panels next. And more body work on the cab and front fenders. Not my favorite thing to do. I've been putting off working on the door bottoms about as long as I possibly can.
