Week #1 of the build...
First time build for me so looking for lots of input..
Here's what I have. 1949 Ford F1 pickup bought it for $1000. The previous owner put a 9" rear in it already I think he was planning on restoring it but lost interest...
My ideas so far...
Shorten the rear frame and maybe move the rear front 12"
Cut the box down to fit frame.
Keep all the fender's on but shorten the rear ones
rewire everything
Drop a sbc or maybe bbc in w/ automatic trans.

Some pics....

Sounds cool, but with full fenders just watch your proportions, its easy to make one look like a Shriners parade car..:D:D I'm SLOWLY building a 48, link is in my siggy..

Got to work on the truck tonight a little... Took the rear fenders off and the box also steam cleaned the frame and cab... Up next drop the rear and spring shackles to relocate the rear... :)!!
