that 4 month trip comes at a bad time, huh?
I have an idea.... call in sick ;)

Yep, During the summer time. But... rather that then during the holiday season. I can always work in the winter time... a little. The trip will be good for i can save some while i am there. Unless my wife spends it on her bike... lol

well i am just about to come back from being deployed to the desert and can't wait to get my hands dirty again with my ride. 2 weeks left and i will be there. I am trying to get the truck on it's own 4 wheels by christmas. I had the four link pretty much done but need to get a rear end that will handle the power i want from the 521 BBF. i plan on getting a custom build 9" ford to put there with a transverse rear spring. and some 17" steelies all the way around.

well alot of work has been done sense i have been back. I got my four link all set up temp installed. I will be taking it to a peofessional chasis welder to get it finally welded up. I also will get the "Z" cut down on the front.

I also worked on the overhead brace and the drivers door, fixing the rivit holes in the inside.

I picked up some Troq Thrust M wheels for the ride. 20" x 8.5" for the front, 22" x 9.5 for the rear. Have some Yokahama Parada 245x45x20 for the front. will be using 285x45x22 for the rear.

I chose this set up to get the traction i need to keep the HP to the ground. I liked that it has the same old school look i was looking for but the size i wanted.

I also picked up a ford 9" rear made to my specs and Moser rear axles. Thought it would be a good replacement for the early Dana i had.

All the old wheels and rear will be used for the next rod i build.

here are the wheels i will get more picks when i can.

i have been able to make some progress on the frame and get the engine and transmission mount tacked in. the holes in the trans mount are there to allow the radiator hoses to run thru them to the rear mounted radiator.

picked up a rear spring as well and fabricated rear spring mounts for my rear axle.

i also started fabricating my headlight mounts. remember there will no grill or radiator in front.

Don't you hate how life gets in the way of rod building.

I sure do. last year has been ruff. Got divorced and in the last couple months i bent my thumb backwords and tore a ligament in it. my dominent hand none the less. might have to get surgery. will find out in a couple days.

i hurt it working on my truck... go figure.
